Man Bites Dog

As the owner of my own Italian Sausage company I have to share my favorite sausage sandwich......no traditional, but oh so good. Take either my mild or hot Calabrese style sausage and grill it then butter-fly it. grill marks are key.  Then add, here comes the fun part, grilled pineapple and grilled asparagus. No other topping is needed. The sweet pineapple with the asparagus and then finish with the Hotness of the Hot Italian (my favorite!) brings it all home.

i dig a split dog nestled in a bun on top of a little slice of sharp cheddar, loaded down with onion, coleslaw and topped with lays classic potato chips.
also a bratwurst steamed in beer with a little brown mustard and topped with french fried onion bits

I could totally get behind a bahn mi hot dog sandwich-- kimchi, mayo, sriracha, green onions, shredded cabbage, and cucumber rocking with a spicy all-beef dog!

When I want Hot dogs, I want hot dogs, just dark brown mustard and sweet onions on a egg bread (challa) bun barely big enough to contain the dog. I look for the 'snap' of a well-grilled skinless hot dog and the garlic-spicy tang of an all beef kosher dog. So I find it interesting that people subject their dogs to so many different distractions. As I see it, a buffalo hot dog is the vapid culinary equivalent of an appletini.

Pork with mango salsa/chutney and possibly the addition of some jalapeno mayo.
